3. Sunday 11/1: Check out the 6th Annual The 7th Annual! According to the site, “The 7th Annual is a night of short horror films, haunted visions, and the brave few who dare to compete for a cash prize… and the infamous Goblet of Woe.” It’s not too late to submit a short film either - read more about the event here and submit films here.

Also kind of spooky, what in the mice is happening at the Westminster AMC? After months of complaints and reviews about seeing (or getting scurried over by) mice, the Jefferson County Public Health department’s latest inspection found dead mice and droppings in their kitchen and formally shut down the theatre. It remained closed for over four days, and passed after a reinspection. If you’re like me, and simply cannot look away, here are some pics that moviegoers have taken of mice in the theatre: here, here. Anyway, the theatre is back on FAB! But just beware and hold your popcorn close to your chest :(
Happy Halloween, see ya at the movies! 🎃 xoxo Jenn

Night of the Living Dead Night of the Living Dead
1968 · Horror · 96 min
Directed by George A. Romero
IMDb7.8RT95%LB3.9
THEY WON’T STAY DEAD! They keep coming back in bloodthirsty lust for human flesh! In this zombie horror classic, seven strangers barricade themselves in a Pennsylvania farmhouse while the Living Dead comes looking for them. NotLD was a low-budget indie film, and ultimately earned over 250 times its original budget. This movie also has one of my favorite opening scenes. How lucky are we to be able to see it, for FREE at the library this weekend, back to back with its successor…

Ten years after the Night of the Living Dead, Romero brings us back into the zombie apocalypse with Dawn of the Dead. We meet four survivors who end up in a shopping mall and try their best to keep the undead out of the mall. The makeup and effects in this film are stellar. This movie is also one of five movies on my “Mall Movies” list that I have begun to build out - please reply with any others I might be missing.
